The Beast of the East

NBA: Charlotte Bobcats at Portland Trail Blazers

So as we all know the playoffs are just a few days away and the league is looking more tight than ever now! Teams like the Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers, and even the Charlotte Bobcats are looking to keep up their excellent wortk ethic and make a statement in this year’s playoff season. Players like Russell Westbrook, Lance Stephonson, and Al Jefferson have maintained their dominance on the court and continue to improve.

Westbrook has always been the man, but this season, it’s just something about his arrogance in the way he pulls up from deep and effortlessly makes a 15-foot three point shot. He leads his team in steals, assists, and is the second leading scorer of OKC. Indiana Pacers guard, Lance Stephenson has also been a big deal this season. Just this past Sunday, April 13th, in a primetime game against OKC Stephenson reached his fifth triple double. Stephenson is the first Pacers player to achieve that amount and he currently has the most triple double’s in the NBA. Let’s not forget about the Beast of the East himself, Mr. Al Jefferson. He has put on for his team so hard this season. This is the first time in four years the Charlotte Bobcats will make it to the playoffs. Center Al Jefferson was named Conference Player of the Month for March averaging 24.7 points, 10.6 rebounds and shooting at 55.5 percent in the paint. And this month Jefferson has improved even more averaging 26.6 points and 13.7 rebounds for the 42-39 Bobcats.

“My main goal right now is to turn the Bobcats into one of the elite teams in the East,” Jefferson said. “I think that from the beginning, the respect that we now have is great, but I think it’s just the beginning of something special.”

The 2014 NBA Playoffs begin this Saturday, April 19th.

-Imagine the game, Chelle.
